She has been a registered nurse for the past 26 years, serving in a variety of specialties: neo-natal intensive care, pediatric oncology, public health, home health, and hospice nursing. She brings 14 years of experience in preparing people for death as a parish nurse for Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Rocklin, California. Pamela has traveled to Kenya four times since 2006 to work with the deaconesses of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kenya to help them deal with end-of-life issues, including palliative care, grief, and loss. She is also a deaconess student in the distance learning program at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne.
